The center channel pod is made of fiberglass and houses a 5.25" mid and dual 1" soft-dome tweeters taken from a set of Premier TS-C520PRS components. The tweeters are countersunk into the pod and use custom dispersion rings to help keep the focus on the soundstage.
Using fiberglass enclosures mounted to 11/42" MDF baffles, Premier TS-C720PRS 6.5" midbass drivers are mounted in the doors, while matching tweeters sit in fiberglass pods mounted at the base of the A-pillars. Periodic membranes in the bottom of the enclosures improve midbass response, and the drivers are mounted off-axis for better soundstage. The doors, meanwhile, received two layers of Dynamat Xtreme on the inside and outside walls.
Cartronics says the subwoofer install was the hardest part of the installation. Trying to jam two 12" Premier TS-W3001D4 subs into a rear deck without enough space required "a ton of cutting, bending and welding."
A Premier DEH-P880PRS head unit flush-mounted in a double-DIN opening generates signal, which feeds into a DEQ-P8000 5.1 processor. The processor offers the control Dalsgaard needs for his 5.1 system and also allows him to keep the signal digital via the DVD changer.
