To Infiniti & Beyond - 2003 Infiniti G35
Attack to the BackFor passengers sitting in the back seat area, sound comes courtesy of a pair of Focal 165 KF sets. These were installed much like the components in the front, with the main exception of having just one driver (compared to the front's two-per-set). The other difference lies in tweeter placement. An enclosure was fabricated with a wooden ring, cotton and resin, and reinforced with resin and activated silica thickener. The tweeters were incorporated into the enclosures for the rear. Like the other accented pieces, the enclosures received a coating of red paint to match.
Oddly enough, the G35 has two rear systems. The second system lies hidden until the trunk lid is raised, exposing three speakers. Left and right sit two Focal K2 Power components, while the center spot is occupied by a Focal 100 KP speaker. The three were installed in a custom fiberglass enclosure, molded to fit the shape of the inside of the trunk lid.
Two Focal KX 33's provide the bottom end from their individual sealed enclosures in the trunk that fire into the car. It was decided that each enclosure have 1.75ft3 net volume, which ensures plenty of deep, accurate bass.
Champion AmpsFor a car this size, Mills didn't have much choice but to put the amps in the trunk. He decided to mount them to the walls in order to save some cargo space. First up, an Audison LRx 2.500 drives the front speakers with 300 watts x 2. An LRx 2.150 supplies sound to the rear fill with 80 watts per channel. An LRx 1.400 monoblock drives the subs with 900 watts at 1 ohm. An LRx 4.300 is put to good use with one channel handling the dashboard center channel, another taking on the rear deck center channel and the remaining two channels carrying the left and right rear deck speakers. For anyone not keeping track, that's a total of 3,000 watts.

Like To Watch?Mills equipped the G35 with five monitors. Out back in the trunk is a 17-inch Pyle PLVW 1770 R LCD screen. To get it just right, Mills took it apart and removed the hinge. He rebuilt the case with Duramix 4040 and painted it red to match. The monitor's electronics were relocated to the trunk deck, hidden away. For rear passengers, two Vizualogic factory-matched 7-inch headrest monitors provide eye candy. Lastly, two 6-inch Alpine TME-M580 monitors were installed in the dashboard. The screens conveniently flip up to allow access to a hidden PlayStation 2. Video switching is handled by a Pioneer AVIC-Z1.
