At one of the greatest automotive events in the world, the top six cars for Trifecta 2006 gathered to compete for the attention of Car Audio's judges and a first place cash prize of $1,500, as well as the cover of CA&E.
Competitors traveled from across the country to be at the SEMA Show. Just making it to the Finals was a true accomplishment. Our congratulations to Trifecta Denver winner Zee Siddiqi and his 240, Wayne Watkins and his super clean RSX, Justin Efkowitz and the Tweeter 300M, winner at our IAS Philly show, along with Dave Hary and the SQ Audi S4 who joined the most recent winners from our San Diego event, James Moe and his Chevy Brookwood and James Ngim and his Honda Civic.
It was a close competition. In the end, after tallying up all the scores, judges Troy Sumitomo (5Axis), Chris Yato, Mike Vu, Gary Bell (Alpine), Mark Eldridge, Jim Holloway (Mothers), Rob Ida, Mike Martin (Pimp My Ride), Ed Ng, Keith Turner, Matthew Valbuena, Eric Fitzgerald and Casey Thorson gave third place to Zee Siddiqi and his 240, which had the highest aesthetics score and collected the $250 award. Second place was somewhat of a surprise as it went to Wayne Watkins and his new and improved RSX, the top SQ car at the event. Watkins collected $500. First place was won by Justin Efkowitz' 300M, built by the Tweeter team led by Billy Brown. Justin collected $1,500 and is featured on the front of this month's Car Audio.
Our thanks to all the sponsors, a special thanks to SEMA, our judges and the competitors that made for a successful inaugural season of Car Audio's Trifecta.
Justin "Spike" Efkowitz doesn't work for a manufacturer; he didn't get sponsored for any of the product; in fact, he paid for all the labor as well. This is one dedicated competitor. Congratulations to Spike and the Tweeter team for putting together the Trifecta car of the year. | Chris McEntyre, Randy Lively, Matt Turner and far right Billy Brown, members of the Tweeter team that built the winning car. | |
James Moe, fourth place, who just barely finished out of the money. | | Billy Brown standing in for Justin at the awards. |
2nd place winner Wayne Watkins with his top SQ RSX. | Builder Zee Siddiqi with the top aesthetic car, Sound Crafters' 240. | One of the hottest booths at SEMA. |
 Judge Mike Vu. | | Mad Mike judging Zee Siddiqi's 240. |
